At the request of the student researchers, who were all students in the Creative Advertising Program, the following question was added to the study:
“If your smartphone was a person, what type of relationship would you have?”
Over 2500 students responded to this open-ended question. The answers to the question paint an interesting picture from an ethnographic perspective and indicate a very strong attachment to their phones.
